Family Bonding Over Middle Eastern Food And Arabic Tea

Before it gets a little bit more complicated and before you get more and more confused, let me tell ya, my mom (Mama) and dad (Ayah) are not living together anymore. Mama and Ayah divorced when I was 13 years old and they both share custody of two daughters - me and my younger sister. Then, two years later, Mama and Ayah remarried (not with each other) and each of them was blessed with a son. So technically, I have two sides of family yang macam-macam ragamnya.

You’ve heard me telling about my outing with Mama and her gang at The Curve, Mutiara Damansara, in the previous blog post, so now, you’ll be hearing me talking about my special time with Ayah and his gang at Al-Diafah Restaurant last night. Too bad, my brother, Faridhil was not around as he’s stuck with the bloody Malaysia National Service programme (Program Khidmat Latihan). What a shitty! So, it was just me, my hubby, Ayah, step-mom and step-brother Azrun.

Well, we came to know about this restaurant last two years ago through the internet when we were looking for a nice and private dining place for breaking fast (berbuka puasa). Since that night, this restaurant has become ayah’s favourite chill-out spot.

Welcome to Al-Diafah Restaurant, one of the best Middle Eastern restaurants you can find in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Before going straight to the dining hall, Ayah wanted to buy some dates (kurma) so, we checked out Al-Diafah’s huge range of dates located at the groundfloor. FYI, these dates are fresh and well preserved, that they taste like heaven!

Lets get inside. Ain’t this the coolest place on earth or what? The last time when we came here for dinner, I used my Sony compact camera, so the pictures taken weren’t so clear. This time, I used NIKON D40X and the pictures are better and sharper.

Nice, you think? Wait till you see the drinks and the food. I’m not sure if you like it or not, but I sure loved it very much!

The Ginger Tea and Arabic Tea were marvelous!

And the Mixed Vegetables Soup, Tomato Soup With Cheese, Pita Breads, Lamb on Rice (hubby ordered that, okay!) and Grilled Lamb Chop were simply as marvelous too!

Don’t forget to wash and soak your fingers into the warm lemon and mint water when you’re done with dinner! I guarantee, you’ll love the feel of it.
Err… you want the address of the restaurant? Here you go…

Dato’ Yahaya’s Son’s Wedding Reception

Mama and the whole family were invited to Dato’ Captain Yahaya Abd. Rahman and Datin Sharipah Mohamad’s son’s wedding reception at Perbadanan Kemajuan Pertanian Selangor building in Shah Alam, Selangor, today’s afternoon. I was there too.

I didn’t really know much about Dato’ and Datin but according to mama, Datin had lived next door to my grandparents in Seri Menanti, Negeri Sembilan, when she was a teenager. So, they were neighbours and extremely good friends.

It was quite a lavish and elegant wedding, you know! And guess - WHO WAS THE WEDDING PLANNER? No, not David Tutera, you silly! It’s none other than the famous Pak Engku from Kuzie Catering - one of Malaysia’s most renowned wedding planners, who also planned for Ning Baizura and Siti Nurhaliza’s wedding.

This was absolutely a beautiful wedding, perfect for two beautiful newlyweds!

The newlyweds making their grand entrance into the ballroom.

The newlyweds proceeded to the wedding dais (pelamin) where they were seated to receive their blessings. For those who don’t know, this process is called Upacara Merenjis dan Menepung Tawar.

It’s time for makan beradab. Sitting next to the groom is Tan Sri Zaini Omar, former director-general of Public Works Department, Malaysia.

While the newlyweds were enjoying their lunch at the high table with the VVIPs, the guests were royally entertained by two famous veteran singers, Rohana Jalil and Azizul Khamis.

Wanna know something that I didn’t actually know? Dato’ and Datin even made it to my wedding reception that day. How sweet of them for being there!

After 14 Long Years

It’s been quite a while for I had not met this adorable lady, eye-to-eye!
Mona a.k.a Batdeaz and I went to the same schools together and were put in the same classrooms - first at King George V School, Seremban and then, at Tuanku Jaafar Technique School, Seremban. I suppose that had made us become good friends! We used to go to this one restaurant called Gharizah at Ampangan, Seremban after school hours and have lunch together (kan Mona kannn…).
But our lives changed drastically after finishing school and we stopped contacting each other since then. No more chilling out together and we absolutely had no clue of what each other had been up to for fourteen long years!
However, we finally met again at a small classmate reunion at A&W Petronas Station at Kota Damansara which happened two years back and we managed to exchange contact numbers. But I didn’t stay long at the gathering as I had another gathering to attend to at that time, so I didn’t have the chance to borak panjang with her during the reunion. But good thing was, since that day, we never lost touch with each other although we never met again after that.
Last night, at 8.00 p.m., we had drinks together at Starbucks Coffee, Jaya Jusco in Seremban. I found it funny for we still talked and laughed and behaved the way we used to when we were fourteen years younger. Things didn’t seem to change so much except for one thing - we’re now mature adults talking mature stuff!
Well, I believe she will agree with me if I say we really had a great time together last night and that we should be doing this again some other time. Don’t you think so, Mona?

Restrengthening The Family Bond

We haven’t done this for a very long time.

Eversince mama got herself promoted, she has become very busy with her work and too tied up with too many activities. At the same time, step-father becomes too involved in the game of golf, that he prefers going to the driving range than going out with us (well, sometimes la). Then, things worsen when I have to follow hubby working in Mumbai, India and younger sister has to go work in Macau.
Everybody seems to be busy with our own interests and activities, that we forget we still have our 15 year old brother (youngest child in this side of family) to care about. However, eventhough there’s hardly any quality time together now, of course the family bond is still there, still strong and unbreakable. Air yang dicincang tak akan putuihhhh

My brother so badly wanted to check the K-Zone Event out, which was happening at The Curve, Mutiara Damansara yesterday. In a very soft voice, he asked if I could take him there. Gosh, how could I reject! And so, I said to him, “Of course, I’ll take you there!”. As I thought that this would be the right time to restrengthen the weak family bond, I urged everyone in the house to come along with us. Mama and step-father agreed to go and off we went to The Curve! Lagipun dah lama tak spend quality time together. Sister's not around, so it's just the four of us.

When it’s time for lunch, they just could not make up their minds of where to eat! My brother wanted to eat at Bubba Gump Shrimp but step-father disagreed and wanted to eat at Marche Movenpick instead. It was quite a ‘war’ there between my step-father and brother. It’s funny (and fun too) to see a warga emas dengan budak kecik bickering about… FOOD! Mem besar and I jadik orang tengah la! At last, step-father won the ‘fight’ and no need for guessing where we had to have our lunch at la kan!! Pssttt… actually I was on brother’s side cause dah muak makan kat Marche Movenpick, tapi malas nak masuk campur ‘pergaduhan’ yang amat besar itu, so I diam aje la!

After we had our fill, mama wanted to check a few things out at the flea market, just outside the Marche Movenpick Restaurant. I bought her three beautiful shawls and a fancy hair clip. Ye la, kalau dah mem besar dok belek bende-bende tu semua dekat satu jam, tak kan tak belikan plak kannnn… karang mem merajuk, manyak susah wooo! Hee… hee… hee… I, myself, ended up buying a couple of items from the flea market too! Shopping sakan!

Good To Be Home Again!

I have safely arrived my mom’s place in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, folks!
The first thing I plan to do later in the evening is to go to my favourite hair salon and get my hair trimmed!
But right now, I need to sleep and get some rest.
See you in my dreams!

The Chronicles Of Narnia: Prince Caspian

A week before, we went to Adlabs at Palm Beach Galleria, Vashi to catch Iron Man.
Last Saturday, we went to the same place again to watch yet another excellent movie, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.
After one year, the Pevensie siblings - Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy Pevensie - were magically transported from England to the world of Narnia once again in this newest installment of “The Chronicles of Narnia” series. During their absence, The Golden Age of Narnia was invaded and has been conquered by the Telmarines, under the control of the cruel despot, King Miraz. The rightful heir to the throne, Prince Caspian was forced into hiding as his uncle plots to kill him in order to place his own newborn son on the throne. Prince Caspian later then meets the siblings and the Narnians in the jungle and together they embark on a thrilling journey to find Aslan - the King of Narnian, rescue Narnia from Miraz’s tyrannical hold and return it to its righful ruler, which of course, the Prince Caspian.

For the rest of the story, I suggest you go watch it! However, I advise you to watch the first serie first, if you haven’t done so, then you will have a better understanding of the storyline and continuation of the Narnia series.
Two thumbs up to C.S. Lewis, the creator of The Chronicles of Narnia, for his remarkable imagination and creativity! I’d say The Chronicles of Narnia is one of my favourite fantasy stories, after Harry Potter and Lord Of The Rings, and I just can’t wait for its third serie - The Voyage of The Dawn Treader - to hit the big screen!

No Stones In The Kidneys

I just got back home from a follow-up check-up at Mahatma Gandhi Mission Hospital. I came home with a big smile on my face. Hubby suddenly became very cheerful too.
The surgeon, Dr. Saxena, who had attended to me while I was warded at the hospital, gave me a good news. From the X-ray result, there are no stones in the kidneys whatsover, only small forms of cysts at my ovaries. Apart from that, there’s nothing to be worried about. He further advised me to drink a lot of water and take my medicines religiously. Alhamdulillah

Light At The End Of The Tunnel

Hubby came rushing home at 5.00 p.m. last Wednesday, after a distress call from me. This happened right after I got back from the salon (see previous post). He found me tossing and rolling on the bed. My both hands were pressing hard on my stomach, tolerating an excrutiating pain. I looked rather pale and there’s no light in my eyes. I could not even sit upright, let alone stand up! The pain was killing me and I was in an absolute mess. Hubby had no choice but to pull me up slowly and walk me to the car, one hand supporting my body. Shoulder to shoulder, we walked toward the car and he drove me to Mahatma Ghandi Mission Hospital, a semi-private hospital and the only nearest hospital we could think of at that time.
I am not ashamed to tell, I wept like a baby that day! Sakitnya ya amat-amat, Allah saja yang tahu! I could not think straight. Bad thoughts kept crossing my mind.
What is this thing in my stomach?
Am I having a cancer or some deadly disease or something?
Surgery? Knives? Needles?
Oh nooooo…
Am I gonna die?
As soon as we arrived at the hospital, I was wheeled into the Emergency Room by an Emergency Room attendant and he made me lie down on one of the empty beds in there. A male doctor cum surgeon on duty came to check on me a few minutes later. His accent was so thick I could barely understand the hell he was saying. He gave a couple of soft punches at my stomach, at my backside and down at my pelvic area. As he was giving me those tender-loving punches, he wanted me to indicate the painful areas. I wanted to scream “Ishhh, sakit la!” at first, because everywhere he punched seemed to be hurting me so bad, but I managed to muffle my cries of pain and respond to his punches calmly throughout the examination.
Later then he said in thick Hindi accent, “I yem afraid dad you might yhave stones yin your left kidney yand yabdomen. Yit could also be cysts. Vat I am suggesting you yis, you get yourself yadmitted yand ve vill send you for sonography test yand yex-ray to see vat the thing yactually yis.” Then, like a wind, he was gone. I just continued lying there unmoved, a blank look on face, eyes blinking rapidly, trying to:
1 - Figure out what the hell did he just say?
2 - Understand what he meant by stone, cysts - in my kidney?!
A nurse came in and asked me to turn around and loose my pants. She was smiling while rubbing my left butt cheek with a wet cotton and suddenly I felt a cooling sensation right down there. She asked me a few friendly questions like “Where are you from, ma’am?”, “Where do you live?”, “You look like my friend. She’s from Manipur”. I thought she was giving me another kind of examination or something. But to my horror, she took a syringe filled with liquid pain-killer out of her pocket and before I could stop her, she already buried the needle into my butt! Yay-yeah… I got a shot on my left butt cheek, okay! I didn’t see that coming! That was bloody painful! Jarum dia jangan tanya la, panjang sejengkal! However, the pain-killer worked like magic. In no time, the pain in my stomach subsided and I was a happy person once again.
But the happiness was short-lived when another smiling nurse came to me with yet another syringe! This time to suck the blood out of me! I had to brave the needle again and let her extract some blood from my vein for the purpose of blood test.
I thought it was over. No more needles. No more injections. No more smiling nurses. But I was so wrong! The same nurse who gave me that powerful pain-killer shot came again. I looked down at her hand and saw a different kind of syringe. But this one was attached to a tube meant for the sterile water to flow into my body through the vein. Oh my God, not again! Would this ever stop?!! Zappp… kena sedas lagiPadan muka.
To cut the long story short, I was admitted into a Special Ward yang tak special langsung for 3 days and 2 nights and of course, I had the room all for myself! Unfortunetely, air-conditioned rooms were fully occupied so I had to make do with the one with a ceiling fan. The springless bed mattress and the pillow were keras kedengking and the television was too small for anyone to even read the subtitles! There’s an attached bathroom at one side and makcik cleaner datang cuci bilik dan tandas tu setiap half an hour! Oh, by the way, just for the record, don’t expect them to serve food here. You want food? Go ask someone to buy it for you! They don’t have that special service like all the hospitals in Malaysia do.
For three days, I was given jab after jab of antibiotics and the pain was undescribable! Twice a day, 3 shots at one time! They also sent me for sonography test and X-ray. On the last day here, as I was about to be discharged, the doctor showed me the result of the sonography test. From his explanation, it seemed that I have cysts at both ovaries but they’re small and can be dissolved by taking medications. There’s unlikely to be any surgery but he needed me to come for a follow-up check up in three days. He made me understand that cysts are not cancerous and will not cause infertility, much to my relief. Eventhough it’s harmless and just normal for women to have cysts, it can cause severe pain especially during the menstrual cycle and menyakitkan jiwa raga. Eventually, it will grow larger and make your body system go haywire if no precautious measures taken. Click here and here, if you wanna know what cyst is all about.
The X-ray result is yet to be obtained though so it’s still unconfirmed whether there’s any stone in my kidney or not. I just pray that it’ll never happen.
It’s kind of embarassing to reveal my sickness but I feel it’s necessary to share and create awareness to you, people. After all - SHARING IS CARING, don’t you agree? Don’t take any sickness for granted. Go have yourself checked! Trust me, you don’t want to go through what I had gone through. It’s unbearably painful!
To tell you the truth, I had been suffering this sickness for almost 4 years, but I kept it quiet. I didn’t tell anyone except hubby. I didn’t go for any medical check up whatsover. I never told my mom and dad about it either. I dare to write about it here cause I know they don’t read my blog! In fact, they have no idea I have a blogsite! Hubby knew about it even before we got married, and he tried his best in persuading me to go for medical check up but I always talked my way out of it. However, I am forever grateful for being blessed with such a great husband who stayed by my side most of the time and even slept with me, on that stone-hard bed, during my stay at the hospital.
I am doing okay now but, deep inside, I feel a pang of regret for having decided not to go for medical check up sooner. Up til now, I am still wondering how the cysts developed at ovaries. I thought it was serious at first and there’s no hope for recovery. Nasib baik, the cysts are still small and can be removed by just taking medicines. Now, I must make sure I am healthy, eat good food, do a lot of exercise, pray harder, spend more time with family and friends, and appreciate life even more. That’s the only way to avoid from going to hospitals. Cukup la… tak mau masuk sepital lagi! Those needles scared the hell out of me!
Alhamdulillah, for there is still light at the end of the tunnel.

My Worst Haircut

Sorry, for taking so long to update about my new hair. My next post will tell you why this post came out a little bit late.
Oh wow, thank you to some of my friends for their opinions. And another 'thank you' goes to jimmywhofan3 for the Hairstyles Watch website. Eva’s medium hairstyle DOES look the nicest among all, doesn’t it? Therefore, I had opted for Eva’s hairstyle since you guys really love it.
And.. Eva’s haircut it didn’t happen!
Well, I had my hair cut last Wednesday at Peacock Hair Salon in Vashi and seriously - I HATE IT! I wanted my fringe to be trimmed so that it’d look like Eva’s, but the guy (yeah, it’s a GUY!) cut it super short that my front fringe became super small, about 1 inch above my eyebrows. As a result, it kind of makes me look stupid, like nyonya jual sayur.
But I don’t blame the off-duty hairstylist (he’s not wearing his salon uniform, please take note!). He’s a nice guy. Maybe, he didn’t understand my English. Maybe, he was having a bad day that he had to take it out on my hair. Maybe, or just maybe, he was experimenting a new skill and took me as the white mice! But still he’s a nice guy.
Urrghhhhh!!! This new hair I am wearing is a far cry from Eva’s lovely hairstyle! It’s mirror shattering ugly! Yeah, that’s how ugly it is! Gosh, if only there’s a button to undo things, I would love to have my Rs500 (Rm40) and my long hair back.
Now, I just have to live with it! And poor hubby, has to endure every night sleeping next to an ugly stupid retarded funny-looking nyonya jual sayur!! So sorry guys and girls, no photo of me and my new hair. I have no heart to publish my ‘breathtaking beauty’ to the world just yet!

A Little Bit Of Change

I think, I am growing bored of this long hair of mine.
I need a new look.
I need to change my hairstyle.
So, I am DEFINITELY going to the hair salon today and get my hair chopped off!!
But can I get away with shorter hair? Do you think I can? Help me choose… which haircut should I opt for?
***
Should I snip it a few inches and layer it like Eva Longoria’s medium length hairstyle?

Or have my hair cut and styled like Jessica Simpson’s full bodied medium length hairdo?

Mandy Moore’s wavy medium length hairstyle looks cool too! Hmm.. this is getting harder for me to choose!

What do you think if I opt for Katie Holmes’s 2008 bob hairdo?

Or Jenny Mc Carthy’s bob hairdo? The choosing is getting tougher now…

Perhaps Jessica Alba’s modern short hairstyle will look good on me.

Or maybe I just go with the face-framing medium hairstyle like Reese Witherspoon’s?

I have no idea which one to choose! These hairstyles absolutely look good on these Hollywood celebrities but will any of them look good on me too? Somebody… help!

Efficiency The Indian Way

One man to do the hard job and the rest just watch and supervise.
It's like a common thing in India.
How efficient!

Modern Knight In Shining Armour

It’s a bird!!
No…
It’s a plane!!
No…
It’s Superman!!
No…
Huh? No? Then what is it?
It’s Iron Man! He’s faster than light, stronger than the Hulk, larger than life, harder than a tanker and seemingly more powerful than all other superheroes. He can do almost anything! This bloody rich modern knight in shining gadgetful armour even flirts like nobody’s business!

Psssttt… psssttt… besides finding how cool the movie was, I just discovered that the seats at Adlabs Cinema, Palm Beach Galleria in Vashi were actually RECLINABLE! Baru ku tahuuuuu….

Happy Mothers’ Day 2008

Here’s to my beloved mama who has been taking good care of me and loving me unconditionally since the day I was born.
“HAPPY MOTHERS’ DAY AND I LOVE YOU!”

A Jaunt To Hyderabad, India

It's summertime in India and it was burning out there! The temperature reached 43 degree Celsius, definitely not a good time for sight-seeing or jalan-jalan tengok orang. I could still feel the scorching heat eventhough I was in the car with the air-conditioning system running at full blast! That’s how hot it was!
I wasn’t really excited about the impromptu trip to Hyderabad (one of the major cities in Andhra Pradesh state of India), mainly because of the extreme heat and excessive dry condition. But hubby had a couple of meetings to attend and needed to meet several congressmen in Hyderabad, to see if there’s any way or chance for our company to venture into any highway projects in Adhra Pradesh state. So, 43 degree Celsius or not, I was definitely going with him because I didn’t wish to stay in Mumbai alone! Therefore, we had to leave Felix at home, under the tender care of two company's staff, Subhir and Sachin. They were to come over to our house, every day after office hours, fill up Felix’s bowls with his food and water and make sure that Felix was alright!
On 4th May 2008, at 6.30 a.m. hubby and I were already dressed up and the company’s driver, Chavan, were already waiting for us to come down. He then sent us to Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (domestic airline terminal) in Mumbai city. At 7.30 a.m. the airport was already crowded and… noisy! And some people just didn’t know how to queue!! Macam pegi pasar, aarrrgghhh… tensyennye la haiii! Nak lalu security check point pun nak berebut! Dah la pintu gerbang kat security check point tu kecik, dah macam nak roboh! At 8.00 a.m. all passengers to Hyderabad via Jet Airways were paged for boarding. Quite a journey we made there on the shuttle bus that transferred us from the airport terminal to the aeroplane. It took us 10 minutes just to get to the aeroplane and we were standing throughout the bus ride, okay!
Upon boarding the flight, we were given a warm welcome by the attendants and some hot towels, to ‘wipe’ the sour look off our faces, hee… hee…! But then, this was not a lousy domestic flight after all. The English breakfast was quite tasty and to my relief, they had touch-screen LCDs in the flight to play any selected movies or songs. Not bad at all!
About an hour later, we reached Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and the Taj Deccan Hotel’s driver was already waiting there to receive us and take us to the hotel. On the way, we passed by a lake where I saw men and beasts swim and bathe together! Dahsat! Kerbau dan manusia boleh geng berkubang sesama! And they’re still using sawdust (the old method) to keep the ice cubes from melting fast.
The road trip from Hyderabad International Airport to our hotel took us approximately 45 minutes. But ok la, at least I had the chance to see the panorama! I was told by the hotel’s driver that 80% of Hyderabad was populated by the Muslims. But even so, it still made no difference to the culture, customs and lifestyle in Hyderabad. Sama je… Mumbai pun macam nih, Hyderabad pun macam nih. What ever I saw in Hyderabad was also the same as what I see in Mumbai everyday. Sama aje… But the hotel was nice! Taj Deccan Hotel was indeed the right choice. I loved it!
That afternoon, we took a ride on an autorickshaw to Golkonda Fort, a ruined city located west of Hyderabad which used to be a stronghold belonged to the great Muslim mughal, Ibrahim Quli Qutb Shah Wali, the fourth Qutb king.
What amused me the most about this fort were its fantastic acoustic effects around the fort and its marvelous sound engineering works. For example, a hand clap at the entrance of the fort could be heard clearly at the other corner of the fort. And how did they do that? I guess, that, we need to dig the mughal’s grave ourselves and pray his good soul would give us the answer! Even our guide, Mohammad, didn’t have a clue!
It was almost dark when we finally got back to our awaiting autorickshaw. We were taken to Hussain Sagar Lake to see the large monolithic statue of the Gautama Buddha, erected right in the middle of the lake. Aisehmen, jauh kat tengah tasik la pulak… I could not get any closer to the statue so I could not get a clearer shot of it. Too bad. In order to get to the statue, we needed to ride a boat. But we’re too exhausted for that. Maybe next time la!
The next day, while hubby was busy with several meetings with the congressmen, I went to Koti, the Hyderabad’s version of Petaling Street (Kuala Lumpur), with Asha Monica (a girl they assigned to accompany me during our stay in Hyderabad) escorting me everywhere I went. She even brought me to a shop that offered an exquisite selection of Indian bangles. Need me tell you, these bangles are either made of glass or metal that come in many sizes and must be worn in groups so that the arm movements will cause them to produce a pleasant tinkling sound. I bought 4 sets of them – maroon, blue, white and pink – and all were in different designs and patterns.
The 18 year old Asha Monica took me pusing-pusing around Hussain Sagar Lake to see the Buddha Statue after I was done shopping at Koti. I got out of the car to take a photoshot of the statue and got back in as fast as I could. It’s 43 degree Celsius out there, remember?
Asha sent me back to the hotel and then she left right away. Hubby’s already back from his meeting and waited for me in our rented hotel room. I took my shower and jumped onto the bed. Penatnya rasa. Syoknya baring atas katil. Ahhh.. nothing beats the comfort of a plush hotel bed, kan!
A few minutes later, hubby’s Hyderabad friend called up and I saw hubby smile as if he had heard something really amusing over the phone. I let hubby finish his talking and waited for him to tell me about it later. So I carried on my syok syok baring atas katil. Guling-guling here, guling-guling there. Here I guling, there I guling, everywhere I guling-guling.
When he’s done talking, he turned to me as he was saying “Dear, Kalyan and Baha would like to take us out for the best dinner ever served in Hyderabad!” I jumped out off bed in anticipation and asked “Oh yeah? Really? And what would that be? Japanese sushis, Chinese seafood, dim sum, sambal belacan, kangkung goreng, laksa, mee kari?”
“None of those, darling. Listen, you have to be brave and strong, and mentally prepared, for tonight.. eerrmmm… [hubby hesitated a little bit]… errrmmm… we have no choice but to eat…errmmm… beriyani”, hubby knew too well that Indian cuisine was always the last in my food list! Arghhhh…. tensyen. I had been hearing things like this for many times now. In India, it’s a never ending beriyani, curry, dhal, massala and I AM GETTING TIRED OF THESE FOOD!
Eventually, that ‘best-dinner-ever-served-in-Hyderabad’ was had at Paradise – Hyderabad’s Best Beriyani House, located about 20 minutes drive from the hotel. The place was cosy, the company was great, but still, it didn’t do any good to my appetite. I didn’t eat much that night. Muak! Makan 4 sudu aje. Sungguh la tak lalunya!
We got back to the hotel at about 10 p.m and called it a day! Esok, jalan-jalan lagi dibawah sinaran matahari yang 43 degree Celcius tu.
Next day, 6th May 2008, our last day in Hyderabad, hubby received a call and his meeting with another congressmen was cancelled, so he had no choice but to come with me to see some other interesting places. After all, we still had a few more hours to kill before we took off to Mumbai. So, we went to pay a visit at Charminar and Mecca Masjid. These ancient duo are among the most important landmarks in Hyderabad and were built by the same legendary mughal who built Golkonda Fort, Muhammad Quli Qutb Shahi.
We had lunch in the room before we checked out. We boarded the Jet Airways plane at 8.oo p.m. but to my disappointment, the flight that took us back to Mumbai did not have touch-screen LCDs so all we did was sleep all the way! Tak makan pun… tak lalu. Because the meal they served on the flight was… yet again the best-dinner-ever-served, the beriyani!
